Levitate’s just a nice ability but Prankster’s where the uniqueness of this mon comes in. If this gets in, looks like we’ll be getting a lot of Uxie birds. Role Justification: Beating the other lakebird submitters to the punch here, I wanna see how one may fare before the onslaught of lake trio bird Pokémon coming next slate. Intended Role: Physical Wallbreaker, Special Wallbreaker, Setup Sweeper, Offensive Pivot, Setup Check, Hazard Setter, Hazard Control Nasty Plot, Roost, Stealth Rock, Haze, Defog, Light Screen, Reflect I'll do the other 4 mons later, I'm pretty tired atm. Superpower could be useful, I admit, but I don't see it being any more impactful in a game than pivoting or Toxic which gives more utility in general through safe switches or crippling offensive threats. The +1 extra evasion it gets from Defog, while potentially useful could also be potentially useless and doesn't really deter defog users since it doesn't makes Claylamar more threatening, just slightly more annoying to deal with. On a side note, the reason why I didn't talk about the Contrary part of the ability is because I honestly don't think it's as big of a deal as one might think. There's really nothing much else to say about this mon, it just seems like a very well rounded spinner that has a good matchup with the rest of the newcomers. Knock Off is just a very good move all around, and as previously stated by earl allows it to scare off the other defensive newcomer in Torranadus-Therian. Speaking of Knock Off, this is also Claylamar's other part of utility that it has access to. This typing also gives it immunity to Prankster as well as allowing it to absorb Knock Off. For one, Ground/Dark is a much better defensive typing than Ground/Psychic. However this mon does have a few things that set it apart and gives a bit more versatility. This mon seems to play almost like Claydol as a defensive Spinner and setter that can pivot with Teleport, which is honestly still pretty good in it of itself. Toxicargo being immune to both Burn and Poison is honestly very nice, and it has Recover which gives it that much needed longevity over the course of a match. Even then, you cannot deny it's ability to switch into Water type moves and actually does very well against both Swampflora and Togetops the former 4x resisting Grass and walling it so long as it doesn't have Earthquake, and the latter 2x resisting Steel while basically completely walling it since Togetops isn't gonna use Earth Power (45 SpA is real bad even against 4x weakness).

Though that's my predictions, it could be an entirely different story once more mons enter the meta, so take that with a grain of salt. Astonishingly, this actually could give it potentially a positive matchup against certain Water type combination. Fire/Poison is a very good defensive typing, but like Togetops of before, Toxicargo takes a page out of it's book by making one of it's biggest weaknesses into it's greatest strength it gains health from Water type moves instead of losing health. This mon does seem to be the most underwhelming out of all of the newcomers, however it does have a niche that actually has some great significance, it's immunity to Water type moves. Though it is a great addition to the meta, it is not great for all of my future Electric type fusions.

On the other hand though, this mon's defensive typing combined with it's ability makes it have a typing that is Fairy/Steel type levels of excellent, it can basically switch-in free on most Electric type moves and mons with it's ability and actually use that as a way to Set-Up, and the fact that all of my future fusions that will be Electric type will have to be wary about the existence of this goddamn-Īnyway, what I'm saying is this mon seems like a very strong offensive threat for FERU that has a very powerful way of circumventing it's weakness and turning it into a strength. On one hand, it looks like a very cool offensive sweeper with access to pivoting, priority, great offensive coverage, Swords Dance for sweeping, and a great defensive typing. One thing to note though is since this mon is basically forced to run Boots, it also means this mon is going to be quite prone to Knock Off and the inevitable FERU "ability that disables items" so keep those in mind. It does exactly what Tornadus-Therian usually does (since it runs Boots anyway) but with a more versatile movepool and a better defensive typing overall. It's a very solid, very versatile mon and is going to be a very dominating for the foreseeable future of FERU. Honestly, there's not much I can say that hasn't already been said.

All of these fusions looks very exciting so far and I'm looking forward to how the meta develops.
